goBOUNDLESS Incident Reporting

Responsibility of Reporting:

All community members have a responsibility to report incidents of injury, misconduct, and safety concerns to the the event organizers via this form. This proactive approach is crucial for maintaining a safe and secure environment for everyone. Forgoing official reports and participating in hearsay or rumors about incidents can have detrimental consequences, not only for the accused but also for the accuser and the community as a whole, as it can erode trust and damage the fabric of the safe social space we all create and sustain together.

Reporting Procedures and Expectations:

For incidents that include an accused person or persons, please note:

Upon receiving the report, a temporary suspension from goBOUNDLESS events will be in place for both the reporter and accused parties. This allows for a full investigation of parties involved, removes concerns of retaliatory report filings, and aims to protect our community from the potential for ineffective communicators and/or false reporting.

Appeals Process

Appeals can only be provided in the event of one of the following:

Reintegration Processes

Legal convictions of sexual or physical assault will result in a ban without reintegration. It is goBOUNDLESS's position that we do not have the internal resources that would permit reintegration of such offenders without simultaneously putting the community at risk. As such, we will encourage the banned party to seek outside help, but the ban will remain in effect indefinitely.

Clear consent violations (violations of NO/RED/etc.) will result in a ban without reintegration. See above.

goBOUNDLESS does make room for education and reintegration as it relates to conducts violations, understanding that effective communication is an art and skill that must be practiced, not a science of boxed or clear black-and-white design. For these situations, reintegration is considered on a case by case basis by organizers, and will take into consideration:

Internal Procedures & Expectations

Interviews will be collected from both reporting and accused parties except in the case of legal convictions (see above)

Involved parties will be given 7-10 days to provide other evidence and witnesses (correspondence, etc.) to corroborate events

goBOUNDLESS will make every effort to have the final decision completed and enacted within 4 weeks from interview with reporting party (not from date of report)

Review & Final Decision Processes

Final decisions will be made using an odd number of decision makers and/or a third party, all of whom are separate from the incident or persons involved. Majority decision prevails.

If there is only one degree of separation between reviewers and reporter/accused, a closely aligned reviewer will recuse themselves from the investigation and the final decision.
